Candidate Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Compuways recruitment platform at www.compuways.co.za (“Platform”) as a job seeker (“Candidate”). By registering, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform.

These Terms must be read together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

2.1 You must be 18 years or older to register as a candidate.

2.2 You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep your profile up to date.

2.3 You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account.

2.4 You may only register one account. Duplicate accounts may be removed.

3.1 You are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of your candidate profile, including your qualifications, skills, and work history.

3.2 False or misleading information may result in immediate removal of your profile and notification to any employer to whom your profile was presented.

3.3 Certain profile fields (specifically your job title / current position) are subject to review and approval by a Compuways recruiter before being published on the public candidate listing. Other fields such as contact details, salary requirements, and location are saved immediately.

3.4 By submitting your profile, you grant Compuways a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to present your profile to registered employers for recruitment purposes.

4.1 Your profile and CV may be presented to registered employers who have listed vacancies on the Platform that match your skills and experience.

4.2 Compuways acts as an intermediary only. We do not guarantee employment, interviews, or responses from employers.

4.3 You consent to Compuways contacting you by email or telephone regarding suitable opportunities.

4.4 You may opt out of job notification emails at any time via your profile settings or by contacting us.

5.1 When you apply for a vacancy through the Platform, your profile is sent to the relevant employer.

5.2 You may only apply for a vacancy once. Duplicate applications will be discarded.

5.3 Compuways will endeavour to provide feedback on applications but does not guarantee a response from every employer.

You agree not to:

• Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Impersonate any person or misrepresent your qualifications
• Use the Platform for any purpose other than genuine job searching
• Harvest or collect information about other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform
• Upload or transmit any malware, viruses, or harmful code

7.1 The Platform and all its content (excluding your personal profile data) is the intellectual property of Compuways and may not be copied, reproduced, or redistributed without written consent.

7.2 You retain ownership of the content you submit to your profile. By submitting it, you grant us the licence described in clause 4.

8.1 The use of the Platform as a candidate is free of charge. Compuways charges placement fees to employers, not to candidates.

8.2 In the event that you are successfully placed in a permanent position through Compuways, no fee is payable by you.

Your personal information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Please read it carefully.

10.1 You may deactivate or request deletion of your account at any time by contacting info@compuways.co.za.

10.2 Compuways reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or if your profile has been inactive for more than 5 years.

10.3 Upon deletion, your profile will be removed from public listings. Some records may be retained for legal compliance purposes as described in our Privacy Policy.

11.1 Compuways provides the Platform on an “as is” basis. We make no warranties regarding the availability, accuracy, or fitness for purpose of the Platform.

11.2 Compuways is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Platform, including failure to obtain employment, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

11.3 Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud or wilful misconduct.

12.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

12.2 Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be referred to the South Gauteng High Court, or such other court as has jurisdiction, unless resolved by agreement between the parties.

Compuways may amend these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via a notice on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after notice constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.
