Main Duties of the Finance Manager

  • Provide assistance to the Group Finance Officer in all aspects relevant in a finance department
  • Take responsibility for financial reporting and analysis
  • Management of finance team

Key Responsibilities

  • Full oversight and management over the finance department
  • Monthly review of general ledger and reconciliation of various ledger accounts
  • Journal processing at month end and ad hoc journals as necessary
  • Preparation of monthly management reports for the divisions as well as the company, performing variance analysis and providing commentary in a timely and accurate manner
  • Accountability for allocated costs to correct divisions and cost centres, reporting on variances
  • Month end consolidation of subsidiary companies into group report
  • Monthly VAT reconciliations and SARS e-filing submissions
  • Assisting with the preparation of budget templates for the business, co-ordination and collation of all budget information across the various divisions and departments
  • Assisting with annual audit preparation and execution
  • Maintaining control over the Fixed Asset Register
  • Operational involvement with the business in identifying areas that the finance department can add value
  • Continuously look to improve and enhance financial and relevant business processes for optimal efficiency & productivity
  • Various other responsibilities incumbent on this role

  • A minimum of 5 years Financial Management / Management Accountant experience
